![]() Jan 4, 2018 - PDF Expert for Mac allows you to Highlight, Underline, and Strikethrough text. In System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App shortcuts. .line on a Mac Instead of opening your PDF file with the Preview app (or other PDF reader) and export it to PNG, you can easily use the command line. To do so, you need to use the sips (scriptable image processing system) command installed by default in Mac OS X. Open your terminal and run. I'm using Adobe Reader XI 11.0.0 I've used Reader for years, but solely for opening and reading pdf documents. I've never used any other features, nor do I know what Adobe software even offers. My job involves the use of large, complicated paper manuals. These manuals will soon be offered in electronic, pdf form solely. So, I need to find a way to highlight the electronic manual's text and write my own notes on the pdf pages, just like I have been doing with my paper manual versions. I have absolutely no intention of editing/altering the document for uplink. The highlighting and comments are for my own benefit and will be performed on my own computer. My employer will be unaffected. I'll give your suggestions a try. Yes, I'm on a Mac, and command + e works as you suggested. However, once I select either the highlight function or the Add Text function, it's immpossible to deselect the function. Wherever I place the curser, after selecting highlight for example, I forever more must highlight. How can I turn the comments functions off after using them? Also, the add text comment is nice, but is there any way to automatically avoid typing over the original document's text? For example, if I were to write notes in the margin of a paper document, I would do just that.write in the margin. I would not write across text that was already on the page. Is there any way, when adding a text comment in the margin of a pdf document, to just keep typing while the text automatically begins a new line, avoiding the original text. Are you with me? ![]() Thanks for your help! Besides text notes, has no native editing capability. Opening an attachment to a note in preview, adobe, word, or some other program will enable you to make changes to them. These will be saved and uploaded. Thanks, that got the solution started. I was able to open into Acrobat Pro from EN and highlight a portion of the document, then save it back. That went fine. However, when I view it on my iPad or iPhone, the highlighting is not displayed. I tried syncing a few times, moving it to another folder, etc. Still no luck. You might want to try making sure you have synced on your computer, then clear your cache on the iPad (in your Evernote settings), and try to download it. If you still have issues, then I'd say a support ticket is in order.
